House Hunt Stress

Nate and I have been house hunting for what seems like an eternity, and can I just say it has been next to miserable! What is it about spending buckets full of money that results in death-con five between a couple? When I could no longer count the number of fights on my fingers and toes I stopped counting. All of them are really really stupid too, come to think of it we always fight about stupid stuff that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Through all of these disagreements we have learned even more about each other, like we are now on the same page of what constitutes a house as being ghetto...Very important if you ask me.
We think we are getting close though. If not I think the stress might make use explode! I hands down wouldn't want to go through this with anyone else, I married a gem. Sure do love that guy, and the way he puts up with my HM (high maintenance) tendencies, also if you could do me a solid and not mention that I admitted I am a little on the HM side to him, I'd appreciate it ;). 2. We looked for over 2 years, fighting and bickering every single weekend going to see houses and stuff. Not to mention we lost 2 houses before we found this one and that feels like your going through a breakup! So just enjoy the ride, and you will know when you find the right one!

  3. They say that house hunting is the third most stressful event of a person's life, next to divorce and death, so it's no wonder you and your guy get into spats.

Not to sound like a total Debbie Downer, but my husband and I have been trying to buy a house for FOUR years! One time we were three days out from closing and the bank said the house was only worth half of what we were paying for it, so we couldn't get the loan. We were all packed up and ready to move. So sad. Another time, two weeks before close, my husband lost his job. We've put offers on SIX houses and have paid over $3,000 in inspection fees! The good news is that we are about to close on yet another house (I hope) in less than two weeks. Sorry for the rant. Just wanted to let you know that you're not alone in your struggles! This stuff is tough, but there's nothing quite like home, right?

  6. OMG, my hubs and I have talked about this--and we dread the days where we have to search for house...I had to buy a car a couple of months ago and it was the WORST time of life...we were both so frustrated and I cried ALOT but we finally found the perfect car when we found it, everything went smoothly. It was like we were being tested, and we passed, lol. Don't get too stuck on buying a perfect, dream house because the one you end up buying and calling home will be meant for you guys. I believe things always work out the way they are supposed to--even if they don't seem to go as planned or hoped. Good Luck with the hunt!!

  8. Uhggg, I dreaded the home buying process as well. It took us OVER A YEAR to find our place, and it will do for now, but I eventually want to buy land and build. And don't worry, we never fought so much as we did when we were looking for a home, you're not the only one!

  10. This is why we want to rent FOR-E-VER. *lol* My husband has to research but once he's set on something, he's set. (Not to mention, he's super fast at researching, and I'm super slow.) I, on the other hand, piddle around until I get an image in my head of what I want, and I HAVE to find it--I won't settle for anything else unless the image in my head changes. Lucky for my husband, I usually piddle around so long, he's been set on something for awhile, so I usually just give in and go with him. I mean, he has done the research, so I respect his opinion. We don't necessarily do this for major decisions although we got our Hyundai Veloster as a result of my piddling around for so long (and being too sick to care)! I would hate to see our idea of house hunting...

Good luck to you guys! I know you will eventually find something you love that goes through, and you will have no more silly fights!

    P.S. I love your beret. :)

  16. cute outfit! I have been trying to get my husband interested in looking into houses, but the thought of spending so much money overwhelms me, plus the plethora of choices, BAH! scary. I'm sure you'll find something great, just don't be too quick to jump into anything (which it totally doesn't sound like you're doing that - very wise.)

  17. First... I love this outfit. Looks comfy and stylish :)

Second... I can only imagine what it's like to look for a house. After listening to a lot of my friends go through it I have put it off for the next 2-3 years!
